Shipwreck Coast Tours (9 hours)

Explorer Matthew Flinders said of The Shipwreck Coast, “I have seldom seen a more fearful section of coastline”.

This tour is a little bit more unique and allows you to get a completely different experience than our classic Great Ocean Road tour. There are many sights along the Shipwreck Coast that are arguably even more spectacular than the Twelve Apostles, as hard as that might be to believe! There are also just as many photo opportunities and chances to see beautiful scenery as there is on our classic Great Ocean Road tour.

As you can see in our schedule below, this tour actually begins with the Twelve Apostles rather than finishing with them and does not include transport along the Great Ocean Road in order to save time (instead we go via Colac).

The Itinerary

• 8AM collect our group in Geelong and travel the inland route via Colac
• 10AM arrive at Gorge Chocolates for a coffee and delicious treat. You even get to feed the alpacas!(30 minutes)
• 11AM visit the world famous Twelve Apostles for a photo opportunity (30 minutes)
• 11 30AM visit the Gibson Steps and Loch ard Gorge which was the scene of the area’s most famous shipping disaster! (45 minutes between photo locations)
• 12 30PM visit the sandy beaches and limestone cliffs of London Bridge for a photo opportunity (20 minutes)
• 1PM late lunch break at the Peterborough House café which is a tranquil location facing out over the inlet (90 minutes)
• 5PM travel home inland through Colac (where there will be a toilet stop on the way home) and arrive back in Geelong

Alternative ideas to consider: lunch in Point Campbell, A final stop at the Mount Moriac Hotel on the way home, the California redwoods.

Our price is inclusive of transport and coffee and cake at Gorge Chocolates, up to a maximum of $10 per person. Please let us know if you would like any other inclusions, such as lunch as this can easily be arranged for an additional cost.

Please remember that these times are just an approximate guide based on our previous experience. Our driver will do their very best to stick to the schedule, but we cannot account for potential lost time due to traffic conditions etc. and it may not always be possible to spend as much time at each location as allocated.
